I'd love to continue cheering during my college years! I love cheerleading because I feel it demonstrates who I am and what I love to do. I also enjoy encouraging my fellow teammates to be the best cheerleaders they can be.
I’ve cheered since 8th grade and continued cheering through my high school years. As a sophmore I was given the opportunity to fill in for a position midseason for a local competitive cheer gym as level 1. On that team, we competed nationally and got second place. The next season, my junior year, I tried out and made level 3. Since then, I inspired many of my high school cheerleader teammates to try out as well and further their careers as cheer athletes. Since freshman year I have been taking tumbling classes and I continue to do so. My tumbling improved significantly, and I regularly attend open gym in addition to practices and tumbling classes. Even practicing 4-5 days a week, I still maintain strong enthusiasm of going to practice, a high GPA, and strong friendships. I hope to continue cheering throughout my college years because I feel it has become a huge part of me: I have learned how to struggle through mental blocks, hard practices, and the reality of double practice days. Cheerleading has helped me grow into a person, and I hope to continue cheering as long as I can.
