I have been a cheerleader for 4 years and have loved every second of it! The feeling of hitting a stunt, learning a new skill, and getting on the field to perform or cheer is a feeling I will never get tired of. The part I love most about cheer is the community it builds. For every stunt, routine, and new skill, the team has to work as a whole, which helps make some amazing friendships, while also building skills and having a great time. This year, my senior year, I was chosen to cheer captain, and since my coach has recently left, I have also taken over much of her responsibilities, such as making routines, running practices, and communicating with the administration for busses and orders, which has definitely helped me grow as a leader, despite the challenges it has brought. Besides doing cheer, I also am the editor-in-chief for my school yearbook, president for both choir and drama club, and have maintained a 4.14 GPA throughout high school. Outside of school, I am involved in my church's youth group, teach a Sunday school class for 3rd through 6th graders, am in Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Early College Outreach Program, and volunteer to teach a yoga class at my local library, and tutor kids there as well. I would love to continue learning more and doing what I love at a college level and look forward to finding the right school for me!
