Paris Smiley '23 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals and aspirations have continued to thrive across the 2 main sports that I have engaged and excelled in: gymnastics and cheer! Because of these vibrant experiences in my athletic career, I am well-rounded, versatile and tenacious in my approach to sports performance.  I believe my diverse experience as a competitive athlete, my charismatic energy and spirit, and my capacity for change makes me an ideal candidate for any team! I began my athletic career as a gymnast, and excelled in that sport for 14 years - finishing as a level 10 gymnast - before recently making the change to cheer. Covid-19 played a huge part in my decision to transition from one sport to another, and though I am no longer a gymnast, I will forever carry my skillsets, discipline and work ethic into everything I do in my life moving forward. Having a strong gymnast background has allowed me to advance as a competitive cheerleader, and surpass every goal presented to me. I bring a level of energy and innovation that elevates any team dynamic I have or will have the honor of being a part of -  and you can tell when other people start to feed off that high energy, because it brings out the best in everyone! Diversity of mind, body, spirit are key priorities for me, and I strive to continue on my own learning journey in everything that I do - and work to continue to be the best version of myself along the way.
