Hi coaches! I’m Ava! I‘m a 2024 senior at Paxton Buckley Loda High School. I’m a tumbler and a main base. I love cheer, I’ve always wanted to cheer for college since I was a little girl. Cheering is important to me because it’s been my whole world since kindergarten. I want to excel in my stunting and my tumbling. I will keep doing something until I do it right and smoothly. I am a very quick learner and love being able to travel and go places for games and competitions. I want to major in Psychology and be the first in my family to graduate. I can’t wait to hear more from you all!
Main concern: Academics. I know you may look and go ”yikes” and I completely understand that. Sophomore and Junior year was rough for everybody, including myself. I didn’t know at the time I wanted to do cheerleading in college, I quit high school cheer (but did an allstar team at that time) and didn’t care about my grades. I wasn’t doing anything to motivate myself to do anything, including school. This year, I have lots of motivation and noticed I have help around me. I went back to high school cheer and enjoy it a lot. My grades are phenomenal and I realized it makes me less stressed just getting done what needs to be done. I plan to have my GPA and my mental heath get higher.
