Power Tumbler
Whatever it takes
My first National...My name is Payton and I am currently 15 from New Zealand.
I reside in New Zealand and I am the tumbler/ Backspot / Side Base, Main Base (all rounder base).
Since starting cheerleading nearly four years ago, I have excelled and continually worked to grow my skills and knowledge of the sport. Looking ahead, I aspire to attend college in the United States and compete on a collegiate cheerleading team. My ultimate dream is to become a world-class cheerleading coach, as I have a deep passion for teaching and helping others succeed. Seeing athletes achieve their goals through guidance and support is something that truly inspires me, and I am committed to making that vision a reality.
One of the most significant influences in my life has been my mum. After we lost my dad in 2020, she demonstrated incredible strength and independence. Her resilience and determination have inspired me every day. She has taught me the value of perseverance, hard work, and self-belief, and has always encouraged me to push beyond my limits. Her example has shaped me into the person I am today—motivated, strong, and committed to achieving my goals.
I began my athletic journey as a gymnast, dedicating ten years to developing strength, flexibility, and discipline. After reaching a point where I wanted to challenge myself further, I decided to try cheerleading. From my very first trial, I discovered not only a new level of excitement but also a true passion and natural talent for the sport. Cheerleading has allowed me to combine my gymnastics foundation with teamwork, leadership, and performance, and it has become an integral part of who I am.
Through my experience in cheerleading, I have discovered that I am capable of far more than I once believed. I have learned how to be a leader—someone who motivates and supports others while setting a positive example. I’ve challenged my mindset and realized that with determination and hard work, I can achieve anything I set my mind to. Most importantly, I’ve learned to believe in myself, trust my abilities, and embrace every opportunity for growth.
Yes, I have faced obstacles on my journey. One significant challenge was experiencing a mental block that affected my performance and confidence. Through perseverance and the unwavering support of my mum, sister, coaches, and church community, I was able to overcome this hurdle. Their guidance helped me regain focus, build resilience, and strengthen my determination to succeed. This experience taught me the importance of seeking support, staying committed, and never giving up, even when faced with difficulties.
I am energetic, confident, and highly team-oriented, which allows me to work effectively with others and contribute to a positive team environment. My coordination and flexibility enable me to execute stunts and routines safely and with precision. Additionally, my endurance and discipline ensure that I perform consistently, even under challenging circumstances.
Beyond physical ability, I bring enthusiasm and leadership to every performance, motivating my team and engaging the audience. These qualities have shaped me into a well-rounded individual who values hard work, perseverance, and collaboration
