Lauryn Schumaker '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a Senior at Norton Community High school! I have been on the Varsity cheer team, and Varsity dance team all four years. My freshman year I received UCA All-American, sophomore year we did not attend a camp, junior year I received NCA All-American, and this year I received NCA All-American. I was nominated for NCA All-American for my motions/jumps. Our cheer team won the KSHSAA Gameday Cheerleading Showcase freshman and sophomore year, and we received runner-up this past year. Our dance team competed for the first time this year in the Dance State Competition and won. I am primarily a main base, but have experience in every position. My highest skill as a main base, backspot, and flyer is liberty, and as a side base, a half-up liberty. I am interested in being on a Cheer or STUNT team in college. I don't have much tumbling experience, but I have a newly-learned standing back handspring and I am taking classes to improve my skills.
