I am a highly motivated cheerleader who looks forward to cheering at the college level. I am a good candidate for any team because I embody the qualities that coaches are looking for. I am hard working, dedicated, determined, and I have a strong sense of self-discipline. I am an athlete at heart and am extremely coachable. I love learning new things and I will always challenge myself to be better than I was the day before. I learn new concepts quickly and am used to being the underdog. My high school cheer awards include Rookie of the Year, the 100% Award, and the Academic Excellence Award. My "fun" awards include the Secret Weapon Award and Superwoman Award.
I think what makes me different from a lot of my peers and other athletes is my late start to athletics. As a child who grew up in an impoverished household, I was never able to participate in sports. As a middle schooler I made the team with no experience but was only able to cheer a few months before Covid forced me to online classes. Since I continued online through my eighth grade year, I entered high school with very little experience or formal training. I made the Meade County High School Varsity Cheerleading Team my freshman year and have worked very hard to reach the competitive level I'm at now. I find that coaches are always impressed by my dedication and my work ethic. Additionally, I tend to learn things more quickly than a lot of my peers and will work tirelessly until I achieve my goals which is why coaches generally nominate me for Most Improved Awards, Rookie of the Year, etc.
I am well prepared for life as a student athlete in college. I have taken a rigorous high school courseload to prepare myself for college while cheering and working two jobs. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and plan to continue the same focus on academics in college.
