Hello, my name is Marisa Jacques and I am currently on Oswego high school's Varsity Cheer-leading team. I only started cheering last year in 2021 but, I have come a long way since then. My journey with cheer started when i heard my school was having a JV cheer team and I could easily make the team with no experience. I didn't have a winter sport chosen so i gave it a shot, and i made it. During the season, i became a front row dancer, the main caller and Captain. I fell in love with the sport, but i couldn't tumble. I was a back spot, but later in the season i became and main/side base. The season was over and i worked for months on my jumps, being tight and preparing for the Varsity fall season. I was nervous i wouldn't make it, because hard tumbling isn't something i have. But i made it, became a side base for an amazing stunt group and i decided cheer is something i need in my future. So, i have come far and my work ethic paid off and now i am currently on my second season of my Varsity team and would like to cheer during college and follow my passion. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I would love to talk to anyone interested in me! I think i'd be an amazing candidate because i show up everyday, no matter what. I have put blood (literally), sweat and tears into this sport, and i wouldn't trade it for anything.
