My name is Belle Blevens, and I am passionate about cheerleading, making a difference in the world, and having a lot of fun while I’m at it. I am a member of the Class of 2024 from a rural school district in Ohio, and have been a varsity cheerleader for our cheer, game day, and dance competition teams, and football and basketball sideline teams, since my freshman year.
I have overcome many significant personal challenges in my life, such as the passing of my father in 2020, and my dedication to athletics has helped me weather the storms on this journey.
I love the element of performance that I find in cheerleading. When it comes to my experiences in cheer and other athletics, whether they were in a competitive setting or to promote school spirit through enthusiastic entertainment, I would describe myself as a consummate performer above all else. I appreciate the reactions of the crowd when I’m in my element; I love the feeling I get while I cheer when I know eyes are on me and I’m doing really well dancing, tumbling, and spiriting.
The gravity of competition began for me in club gymnastics at the age of seven, but even as a young child, my passion for performing completely pushed aside any nervousness or doubt I may have experienced. My hard work culminated in a silver medal on floor exercise for the Indiana State Gymnastics Championships.
Because of my confidence, I often found myself assuming leadership roles among my peers. It’s one of the great joys of my sport to mentor the younger members on the team, and organize a family atmosphere. I enjoy working with my coaches to support them as they support us. It’s important to me to cheer on my peers as we cheer on our athletic teams and school. For all these reasons, I want very much to continue my cheer career at the collegiate level.
As a cheerleader, my greatest strengths are my dance skills, tumbling, consistency, fearlessness and attitude. I am quickly discovering a talent for flying, hitting a successful QP in my very first private flying class.
I am an excellent student, in Honors-level classes and dual-credit college courses, while maintaining Honor Roll status every quarter with a 3.961 weighted GPA. I am in the National Honor Society. I hope to study Pre-Law during my undergraduate studies, with an emphasis in sociology, criminology or family studies, with a goal to attend law school and someday work as a defense attorney or in the area of family law.
I am excited to share more with the coaches and schools that match with my outlook on my sport and academic future, and look forward to making myself available to talk about how we might work together on this journey.
