My name is Zoey Favata, and I have been a cheerleader for 13 years. I developed a love for the sport of cheerleading, the day I picked up my first pair of Pom Poms. I aspire to continue my passion for cheerleading at the collegiate level. Throughout my cheerleading career, I have achieved many goals. I have been an All-American Cheerleader for two years, and a four year Letterman. The goal that I am most proud of accomplishing, was being selected as captain of my cheerleading team twice. At the young age of 11, I was head captain of my cheerleading team, and I am now captain of my varsity cheerleading squad. As a Captain I have been able to curate a positive growth focused environment for my team, where they have been able to develop new skills and understandings from my leadership. I have had the opportunity to lead many practices and became a role model for my teammates. Some qualities and characteristics I hold are being hardworking, dependable, trustworthy, friendly, tough, crowd involved, and a positive ambassador for all. My biggest quality is determination. Throughout my cheerleading career, I have had achieved many obstacles, by having the growth of a positive mindset. I have never once given up on myself or my team. I always strive for the best, by encouraging my teammates and refraining from saying “I can’t do it.” Cheerleading has taught me to build from my mistakes, and has shown me true confidence in myself. The characteristics I have developed from cheerleading, is also shown in my school performance. I maintain Honor Roll grades, I have won a DMAC award through broadcasting, I am a leader in “Media Now” (an organization through my school), and have been an active member of the Environmental Club for four years. Cheerleading has always been a huge part of my life and has molded me into the girl I am today. I wish to continue my cheerleading career at the collegiate level, and bring my dedication to my future cheer team.
