Personal Statement

Hi y’all! I’m Maddie! I’m currently 16 years old and a junior at Bridgeport High School. I have been on the BHS varsity cheerleading team since my freshman year and been named UIL All-State both years that I have attended the UIL Spirit State Championships! I’m currently competing with Outlaw Cheer Company on Lady Law, a Senior level 5 team. I began cheerleading (both school and allstar) in the 7th grade when I was 12 years old. From there, I instantly fell in love with every aspect of cheerleading. Since then, Cheer has quickly taken over my life, becoming my passion, my safe space, and my happy place. I hope to carry out cheerleading through my college career to continue doing what I love, while inspiring others. :)

(These are Leadership Development Events) -In the spring, I compete in Veterinary Science. (This is a Career Development Event.) -I am a Swine Showman! I spend my time raising, training, and caring for my show pig, as well as working on my personal showmanship! In early spring, I bring this SAE to a couple of Stock Shows. CX Debate: -I have been on my school’s CX Debate team since my freshman year. My partner and I have been alternates to attend UIL State on two occasions. Student Leadership: -I have been a part of my schools leadership organization both my freshman year, as well as this year. In this class, we work on projects that improve our school with intent make our fellow classmates happy :) Band/Color gaurd/ Winter Gaurd manager: -While I do not compete, play, nor perform in any of these events, all year, I have worked with these organizations to be an extra hand. I have helped with long rehearsals, attended camps, assisted during concerts/competitions etc. :)
