Johanna Bommarito '25 Recruiting Profile

Welcome college coaches. My name is Johanna, I play goalie for the Monterey High field hockey team. I view myself as an elite goalkeeper and student. Both my studies and field hockey are very important to me. I improved both on the field and in the classroom over my first two seasons.

In my first year, I joined the varsity. I've started every game as goaltender. My team won the league last year for the first time in 24 years. I take a lot of pride and satisfaction in playing defense and speaking up as a leader on the field. During my first two seasons I accumulated over 150 saves, with an average of below 2 goals against per game, and 8 shutouts. I was also selected as second team all-league goalie in both seasons. I would say that my greatest strength is the fact that I never give up on a play.

I have a 3.5 cumulative GPA. English is my strongest subject, while digital media is my favorite. Art is among my primary interests in my spare time. I have had a great time in high school so far. I actively participate in school activities and endeavor to assume any leadership responsibilities that come my way. Making my dreams and aspirations of playing field hockey and pursuing my education at the next level a reality is my top priority.
