When I originally thought about my college goals and aspirations, I was completely lost and uncertain as to what would be my major and desired career path. I simply believed what my parents had instilled in me since preschool, “You will attend college”. Simply stated, I was naive. However, after years of thought and research towards a major, I settled on a choice which would incorporate my desire to help others, not lose myself to an office job, and permit me to continue indulging in my love for sports; sports medicine. People in the field of sports medicine can either choose to practice in a hospital, or, travel with professional sports teams acting as their personal medical progressional. Once my heart was set on this major, I immediately began focusing my studies and dedication to upholding my grades and taking rigorous courses to better prepare me for college. Whilst this was a difficult and mentally damaging journey, I learned to focus on hobbies which would motivate to persist through honors and AP classes to be able to participate in what I enjoyed doing. This was when I discovered field hockey in my sophomore year of high school. Although at first I was a complete novice to the sport, I rapidly gained a passion for this sport and my learning curve accelerated at an exponential rate.
