Updated: 7/2/19 I have decided to attend the Hotchkiss School this fall. Since I am young for my grade, I will be re-classifying to the class of 2022. The NCAA has confirmed, I am able to continue speaking to college coaches, since I have completed my (first) sophomore year of high school. I am excited to challenge myself academically and athletically and continue to find the right match at the collegiate level.
I started playing field hockey in 5th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. For me, it was easy to pick up, and I wanted to play more and more to work on my skills and improve my game. I joined the HTC Field Hockey Club the summer going into 6th grade. HTC helped me reach my goal to make my school's varsity team as a freshman, and HTC is now helping me reach my goal to continue playing in college.
I attended Danbury High School in Danbury, CT for two years. It is the largest and most diverse high school in the state with 3200 students 9th-12th. I earned a 4.3 GPA and I was ranked 42nd out of 779 students. I take my studies and athletics seriously and always look for ways to lead in the classroom and on the field. As a sophomore, I was named co-captain with three of my teammates. My co-captains elected me to be the speaking captain on the field, which was quite the honor.
Danbury is in the toughest conference in the state, the FCIAC, and I have been honored to be recognized in my freshman and sophomore seasons by the coaches in that conference. (All FCIAC West Team, 2017, All FCIAC First Team 2018). I was also named to the CT All State Second Team for 2018. I play lacrosse in the spring and was the only freshman to make the varsity team.
My other interests are singing and mentoring. I recently auditioned and was accepted into the all girls a cappella group, The Calliopes, at Hotchkiss. While at Danbury I was a member of the Madrigals, which is an a cappella group. I am a Role Model Mentor, and currently mentor a 6th grade girl to help her in homework and social confidence. I love the time I spend with her. I also help out the Unified basketball team at my school. It's a pleasure to see the smile on the faces of these students who love being active.
I am interested in majoring in Biology and hope to attend the best fit academically, while pursing my goal to continue playing field hockey in college and beyond. I believe I have the work ethic, desire, the diverse background and the right attitude to be a contributing student-athlete at any NCAA division I, II or III school.
Thank you for your time.
