Personal Statement
Dear Coach, I have been playing organized field hockey since the age of 7. All my field hockey experience has been within a club environment due to the fact that schools here in the Netherlnds do not have organized sports teams. Over the course of my field hockey career I have had the oppportunity to play sveral positions including midfielder, defender as well as goal keeper. This has given me broad exposure to the game and challenges at all positions, this helps me in the forward position ( which I have been playing for the past 5 years). The level of play here in the Netherlands is internationaaly known to be quite high and competitive.
I am an american by birth but have lived my entire life in the Netherlands and also have a Dutch passport and can qualify as an international student (If that helps in the recruitment process). Thankfully we normally spend a couple of weeks each year in the states visiting family and the American culture would therefore not be a big adjustment for me.
I am in the process of finishing my first year of college here in the Netherlands, my major is computer science and I have a grade verge of 9 out of 10 (I believe that it is comparable to a 3.75). I will finish this year of college and would then like to pursue a study in film, film has always been my passion and I now that I am am little older I now know that I need to follow my passion.
In closing, I am a team player, I am eager, I take feedback well and love to play field hockey.
