Personal Statement
Playing hockey has been a long time passion of mine, I started off as a goalkeeper from the age of 9 and continued until the age of 12 where I had to take a break due to a knee injury and then of course lockdown. When I finally made my return back to the sport at 16, I made the decision to try an outfield position which I immediately knew was the right path for me. When starting college, I would love to play hockey at a competitive level and perhaps even become captain of the hockey team one day since I am a dedicated, confident and strong-minded individual. Socialising and making new friends is also one of the many things I love to do which I believe is what also makes me good candidate for a hockey team. Whilst I may have a relatively long gap between the ages of 12-16, I have been working extremely hard to achieve my full potential as a hockey player and have now made my way into playing with a women's team rather than the U18's. This includes pushing myself in training sessions and matches, going to the gym to work on my stamina, endurance and overall strength whilst perfecting basic stick skills from home. Even though I dedicate large amounts of time to exercise, my academics and extracurricular thrive alongside since I can carefully manage the balance between my three A-Levels, sport and singing.
