Personal Statement
At the age of 7, I first started playing hockey. From the beginning it has been something that I am deeply passionate about, and aim to achieve highly in it. My dream of playing for my country started when I made my first provincial team at the age of 12.
Being involved and playing at the collegiate level would steady my path to achieving my goal and is of course an experience of a lifetime.
Having played in the midfield, particularly at centre link for the past 8 years, I have an excellent understanding and vision for the game where my match reading ability has always come into action. Having had the privilege of captaining many school and provincial teams over the past 7 years, I have developed leadership skills through the game. I thrive off of the energy of my teammates and love being a part of a fun team environment. As well as hardworking on and off the field, I am very coachable and strive to learn and grow.
In the academic sphere, I am a persistent and committed student. I maintain good grades in all of my subjects. I thoroughly enjoy public speaking and was a part of the Toastmasters program. I love interacting with other students and being head of House provided the perfect platform to do so.
Being able to attend any of the esteemed American universities would be an absolute privilege and honour. If possible, finding the highest competing field hockey university match would ultimately be my goal.
