Personal Statement
I've been playing hockey since I've got memory. My mother introduced it to me when I was just 3 years old, and I've never stopped playing it ever since. At this point, it is not just a hobbie to spend my spare time, it is one of the most important things in my life. Most of the qualities I've leart from this sport are commitment, responsability, focus, optimism, self-discipline and confidence. I've always wanted to get out of my comfort zone, and try to apply for higher levels.
I am a high achiever academically. I am second in my class, with a GPA of 95 out of 100. I can manage to keep up with my study and go to hockey practise with no problem, as I have an organised schedule.
I recently had a serious injury in a match, I had an anterior cruciate ligament tear and had to be operated on. I´m recovering now, and trying my best to be back in the field as soon as possible. I should be competing again by the end of the year. Although it is not an easy path and I'm facing a lot of challenges, I'm keeping my hopes up.
I applied for coach in the Junior Field Hockey Programme of my club, and I'm currently teaching 9 and 10 years old players. I am doing this mainly because I want to spread my knowledge to other people, and also to still have contact with Field Hockey during the time of my recovery.
