Personal Statement
I am currently studying in Year 12 at Melbourne Girls College in Melbourne, Australia, meaning I graduate at the end of this year.
Most importantly, I am very strong academically and I would hope to achieve some very high marks in my exams this year.
In addition; I love to be active. I have rowed competitively for my school, played badminton, tried tennis, tried softball among others. However, field hockey is my real passion.
I have been playing field hockey competitively for six years now. I started playing senior hockey in the lower grades here in Melbourne at the age of 12 and as I have developed I have been making my way up the grades. I have stopped playing juniors to concentrate on playing for seniors this year. I am currently training in the Premier League Reserve squad and have been playing for this team in a few games this season. This is the second highest women's senior league in my State - not a bad achievement for a 17 year old.
I am an extremely flexible player in terms of position. I like to think of myself as an attacking player but I have played in every position on the pitch making me an extremely valuable member of any team. This season I have been playing a midfield and occasionally as a defender.
Other than playing, I am an active member of the club and I help to coach the under-10's.
I am tenacious and willing to work extremely hard to achieve my goals.
