Personal Statement
I first started playing field hockey when I was 7 years old. Hockey has become a part of my life over the past few years and it is something that I strive to achieve highly in. After making my first provincial team at the age of 12 I knew that my dream would be to one day play for my country.
Playing at collegiate level is a once in a lifetime opportunity and would set me on the right path to achieving my dream.
After playing centre link for the past 5 years I have developed an excellent understanding of the game and ability to read match situations. I have developed leadership skills through playing hockey and I have had the privilege of captaining 11 sports teams at school and provincial level over the past 6 years. I am very coachable and hard working on and off the field.
In the classroom, I am an industrious and committed student. I maintain high grades in all areas of my academics. I am also an executive member of the public relations portfolio at school. I like to give back to the community and because of that I have been a beach lifeguard for the past 2 years. I thoroughly enjoy working with the public. I like challenging myself and therefore decided to participate in The President’s Award, I am currently finishing the Gold Level.
It would be an honour to attend one of the many prestigious universities in America. I would ultimately want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.
