Personal Statement

I am Currently living in England and looking to move to America for university to pursue my hockey career.

I go to Nottingham high school and I am captain of the 1st XI- and I also play for beeston women’s 4’s and am additionally captain of the U18A’s county team.

I am in year 12- to graduate summer 2025 and looking for applying for 2025, I study English literature, history and politics and I am predicted A A A*

I am extremely hard working and dedicated to not only my academics but additionally to my sport. Having coaches which really push me to achieve my potential would undoubtedly be beneficial towards my path.

I’d like to say I’m a valued captain, by not only being a constructive influence, but also understanding the balance of when having an austere nature is necessary, but also appreciating the hard work the team puts in, no matter the result. I am very passionate about my performance and put 100% in and also, after years of figuring it out, have learnt the balance between school work and hockey, so I am always committed.

I am a coach for the U12A, U14A and U15A teams at my school, so I am capable of offering advice and improvements, hoping this would be reciprocated as I appreciate anyway on how to improve.

Both academically and sports wise I’d say I perform especially well when under pressure and when it’s most important, I also execute the importance of collective responsibility and understand to not place blame on team mates, I think the values of everyone being positive is followed by a good match, as seen in previous teams when people are unhappy the performance level drops, so I’d say my love for the sports helps my levels to stay up.

I’d be very excited to experience a new start in a different country, the social aspect to the American university lifestyle is much appealing contrasting to here in England. I am  extroverted and can adapt well to new places, and I am definitely willing to start a new chapter and moving across the world to improve highlights my dedication towards improving.

I have been interested in law from a young age and I am head of the PPE society, apart of the law society, English society and history society and am extremely focussed on my academics.
