Personal Statement
I am a starting defender on the Club Paris Jean Bouin women's first team, which plays in the FFH National 1 Competition Season. We play a fast paced and high performance game. I focus on quick, accurate passing and moving into space to create opportunities for my team to move the ball from defense to offense.
Last year I was selected to play on the u16 regional team as a defensive player. We won the national championship against the defending champions. I enjoyed this experience very much because I got to meet and bond with new players from my region and clubs near me.
I’m an American citizen living overseas so I am playing with people from all over the world. In addition to my French coaches, I have been coached by players from the national South African and Argentinian teams. My teammates are from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and Argentina. This exposure to different hockey styles has helped me develop a lot as a player.
I am a top ranked academic student in my class, always self motivated to learn and do my best. This year I am in the IB Diploma Program and I want to study architecture and design in university.
In field hockey I am equally, if not more, self-motivated to do my best for myself and for my team. My coaches from my club, and from camps I have attended, have recognised me as highly motivated and committed to the team both on and off the field. I am always the first person at practice, helping to set up or trying new dribbling techniques and the last person off the pitch, cleaning up and reflecting on the practice with my coaches and teammates.
I'm looking for a university program where I can thrive both on the field and in the classroom, always learning new things and improving myself and my skills.
