Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Isabelle and I am a field hockey player from Perth, Australia. As a defender, who has represented both my club and school at the highest level, my goal on the field is not to score goals, but to set my teammates up for success. To me, this is not about just giving a good pass, but support both on and off the field. Playing field hockey has been a driving force in shaping who I am, not just as an athlete, but as a student and a person. Athletically, I’ve always been a versatile player with a high field awareness and strong technical ability. I thrive under pressure and pride myself on being a consistent player who remains composed and resilient in all situations. In terms of academics, I strive to maintain high academic standards while balancing training and a variety of extra curriculars, which has taught me the importance of time management, resilience, and setting clear priorities. A highlight of my hockey career so far was being awarded junior club person of the year at my club in 2024. This is awarded to the junior person that has gone “above and beyond” and done the most for the club as a junior during the year. Although it was nice to be rewarded for my contributions, I coach and volunteer around the grounds for the enjoyment and love of the game.
