As a student-athlete, one of my proudest achievements was while I was surrounded by my teammates. It was not the heroic moment when the Oyster River Bobcats had won our first varsity field hockey game in 7 years with 5 minutes left in overtime. It was when my team chose me as their 2019 varsity captain. I have always felt like a leader, both in the classroom and on the field, so being validated in that way was very special for me. I hope to carry my leadership skills into the collegiate level while knowing that I left my high school program better off than it was before I became apart of the team.
