From when I first picked up a field hockey stick at a neighbor’s house in 2014, to now, as I practice with my club and Varsity teammates, I continue to have a strong passion for the game of field hockey. This passion and motivation is evident whether I’m improving my skills and game play with my coaches, or I’m on the field with my team mates, playing hard as a cohesive team but also enjoying our time together.
As a player, I am versatile and able to play in several positions based on team needs. However, I feel my strength lies in the midfield, with my ability to transition for attack to defense and vice versa, my vision of the game and the field, my ability to distribute the ball to open players using a variety of stick skills, and my strength and endurance.
I am excited to begin the next phase of my growth as a player when I prepare to enter my junior year, maintaining my strong academic record while working with many of the girls that I’ve played with at both the rec and club level. I look forward to continuing to play at the U-16 level with my club, and working to push my development as a player by competing in many of the top local and national competitions. Ultimately, I want to represent a college and excel as a college athlete, and I look forward to participating in college camps, hearing from current and former college players about their experiences playing college field hockey, and improving my skills so I can compete at the highest level.
