Hi, I am currently a junior at Oakcrest High School. I started field hockey in sixth grade, I already had some background in street hockey, which definitely helped me along my field hockey journey. Ever since then field hockey was my top priority out of my other sports. I play on three teams: a rec team, my school team, and a club/travel team Edge, no matter what team I’m playing on, I always put 110% effort. Even when I don’t feel the best I always put my all on the field and never give up. Field hockey was the first sport that I found that I was good at, and at the same time enjoyed playing it.
I think I make a great impact on my team because I am an all-around player and student. For example, I put my teammates before me I always make sure I lift my teammates and build morale. I also have straight A’s and am in honors and AP classes, so I’ll never have to let my team down because my grades aren’t high enough. As well as grades I also have good endurance from my eight years of swimming and my three years of track, so I am in proper shape to not let my team down as a center mid. As a midfielder I need to have my skills down so even though there might not be practice and games at this time I practice my skills and drive every day when it’s not horrible weather outside, I also do daily workouts to keep in shape. I’m making sure I am making the best out of this horrible time.
Ever since I started field hockey I’ve wanted to pursue it through college. My goal to play field hockey at a competitive level is to use my skills and competitiveness to possibly win a college championship or a division title. For colleges, I would love to attend an academic selective school as well as a selective school for sports. My dream profession is to be a corporate or criminal justice lawyer. I have always strived for success in everything I do, making me a prominent field hockey player.
