My name is Claire Pausz, and I am a 2026 goalkeeper. I attend Point Pleasant Borough High School, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. I play for Mid-Jersey Knights Field Hockey Club. I aspire to play in college at a school with great academic opportunities and a strong field hockey program.
I was just selected to the U18 Nexus Championship as an alternate! I am so honored to be one of two goalkeepers from NJ selected for the championship/alternate. In the 2023 high school season, my team made history. We won the Shore Conference Tournament for the first time since 1989, in addition to the South Jersey Group II Sectional Championship. We were Group II State finalists. Our record was 21-2, and I had 16 shutouts as the starting varsity goalie. I had a save percentage of 86.4% and a 0.65 goals against average. In 2022, I competed in the AAU Junior Olympics. I earned the silver medal with Team Pride after a close round of sudden-death shootouts. I also earned the bronze medal at the 2022 U16 NEXUS Championship with team Montreal and the Barbara Longstreth Sportsmanship Award. Off of the field, I challenge myself with honors and AP courses. I am maintaining a 102/100 GPA. In both my freshman and sophomore years, I was chosen to be on my school's Principal Advisory Committee. I also founded the Morgan's Message Branch at my high school to spread awareness about mental health awareness for athletes! I was also selected as a representative on the Chic-Fil-A Leadership Academy.
