Sydney Lamothe '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sydney Lamothe and I'm a senior at West Milford High School in New Jersey. I've been playing field hockey for five years with three years of experience at the varsity level. Following my last season, I came to the realization that I was not ready to end my field hockey career. My passion for the sport and my love for being apart of a team only got stronger as the years went on and made me decide to pursue it at the college level. This year I was named a senior captain, first team all county, and first team all conference. Being able to lead my team to victory in our county championship is a feeling I hope to replicate in the years to come. 

As a player, I've spent most of my time centered in the midfield. Nevertheless, I've had a lot of experience as both a forward and defender when my teammates were injured. I hope my versatility can make me a valuable player in any position that a college coach might need me in.  I am willing to adapt and work hard in any spot for the betterment of my team. 

The only thing that I put above finding a great team to play on is receiving an excellent education.  With a 4.44 GPA and 1420 SAT score, I hope to challenge my abilities in college with a major in biological sciences. When I'm not busy playing field hockey, I spend my time taking part in honors societies including the National Honors Society, Math Honors Society, Science Honors Society, and Italian Honors Society. Outside of the classroom, I still continue to work, whether it be at my job at Dairy Queen or to volunteer as a member of my church. 

When I take on a task I do so with a purpose and give it 110%. I hope my dedication and love for field hockey will make me a great fit for a team at the college level.
