Before we were even allowed to play modified sports in 6th grade I became very interested in field hockey. I started participating in clinics that my coach would hold, and I fell in love with the sport. I didn't know much about field hockey, but over the course of five years i have grown tremendously. Whenever it comes time for try outs, my coach always tells me I have the best communication skills out of all the girls on the team. Coach Davis also says that my quick hard shots on cage are a quality that she looks for in many of her players. Throughout my career as an athlete, I have learned that I do my best in school when I am playing a sport. Field hockey motivates me to keep my grades up, stick to a schedule and advocate for myself. Playing field hockey in college is very important to me for two main reasons. I love the sport and can't imagine not being able to compete at the college level, and field hockey will help me stay on track educationally. If you ever can't find me on the field, just listen for a loud voice running all over the field communicating with all her teammates.
