Lucy Pentzer '25 Recruiting Profile

I picked up field hockey my freshman year and made varsity my first year ever playing. However, this took a lot of work, and any and every chance I was given to get better I took. I spent hours on the turf by myself working on pulls and shots, I went to every open field opportunity, and spent a great deal of time watching youtube videos, essentially teaching myself the basics. After my freshman season, I realized how much I truly fell in love with the sport and wanted to pursue it at the collegiate level. The summer going into that season taught me how much I am capable of when I combine my passion and discipline and apply it. Not only am I a driven athlete, but I am also coachable and flexible, I can take feedback and adapt. I possess the ability to pick up anything quickly and be able to apply it, making me an extremely versatile player. One of the things I believe sets me apart as an athlete is my willingness to put myself out of my comfort zone to grow athletically and mentally. My passion, dedication, and mental resilience will make me a great athlete for your team.

Academics are equally important to me, I maintain a 4.0+ GPA and have been taking honors high school classes since 7th grade. I intend to pursue a degree in political science or international relations and affairs.
