When I did my first field hockey camp at the age of 5, it opened a whole new world. I had previously played other sports such as soccer and basketball, but when it came to field hockey, my mother said it was the first time I ran onto the field with excitement. Field hockey became my passion and I could not get enough of it. I have grown a love for field hockey that I did not know I could give to a sport. In 2nd grade through 5th grade, I participated in a local rec program called Doylestown Athletic Association Field Hockey (DAAFH). As a way to give back to DAAFH, I have been volunteer coaching for the past 3 years. Starting in 5th grade, I started to play for a local club team. I enjoy participating in all the tournaments, but my favorite is the National Indoor Tournament. I love that through the tournament, we strengthen our team bond. With my four years of being a captain in this tournament, I get to discover new ways to lead to improve my leadership and my team’s play. I now play on my school’s high school field hockey team. Playing on my club and my school team has helped me grow as a player and as a person. I hope to continue to grow for the rest of my high school years and into a college career. While looking into college, I hope to play at the collegiate level and go to a school that will challenge my field hockey abilities and my academic abilities. Every day I strive to get stronger, play smarter, and become a better player. I am interested in taking my field hockey to the collegiate level. I am looking for a program that will challenge me academically and athletically. My tenacity and desire to succeed would make me a great addition to your team!
