I have been playing field hockey since seventh grade. Since I first picked up a stick, I have aspired to be the best player I could be. It wasn’t until my sophomore year in high school that I decided I wanted to play at the collegiate level. I know playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I don’t want to pass on.
I have strong stick and ball handling skills, strong defensive skills, and mental toughness that is needed to play defense. I try to lead by example while encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and implement all changes and suggestions made by my coaching staff. I strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits that you will find.
I work year-round on my skills, participating in Summer Selects with my high school team, playing with a club team to keep my skill sharp and to always be improving my game. When I have downtime between sessions I work on my fitness with cardio and weightlifting training programs to keep me in hockey shape.
In the classroom, I study hard to maintain a strong GPA. I have made the Honor Roll and High Honor Roll every marking period of my high school career. I also do volunteer work with my church, and I am part of the youth worship team. I have attended several missions' trips dedicating my time to my community.
I want to attend a college where I can continue growth both in the classroom and on the hockey field. I am open to all options and want to find the right college match at the highest competition level possible. I hope to become a great role model for those younger than me and show them with hard work and dedication to the sport that dreams really do come true.
