Hi, I’m Morgan.
I fell in love with field hockey when I was 8 years old. My mom brought home a flyer from the YWCA for Central Penn Field Hockey Mini Sticks and asked me if I wanted to try it out and I have been playing ever since.
My mom played field hockey in middle and high school so she encouraged me to play. My dad played soccer for York College of Pennsylvania. Then was a Grad Assistant (soccer) at Lynchburg College. After grad school he played for Reading Rage and The Harrisburg City Islanders soccer teams. So I guess you could say I might have inherited a competitive bone and an honest love for sports.
I have been fortunate to be part of an amazing club team. CP challenges me and cares about its players. They emphasize personal accountability and growth.
I am thankful for the opportunities my parents have given me and their dedication to getting me to practices for club. I am grateful for their support and the sacrifices they have made so that I can play at this level.
On and off the field, I have proven myself to be a great leader and a supportive teammate. I believe that having good relationships with your coaches and teammates is very important to the game.
I feel that my greatest strengths as a player are: my natural sense to be aggressive, my ability to read the field and anticipate where I need to be, and how coachable I am.
I been told that my game is progressing year after year. I want to continue to work on my strength, speed, and strive to improve my stick/hand skills. I believe this will elevate me as a player. My goal everyday is to be better than i was yesterday.
In the 2020-2021 indoor season with Central Penn Field Hockey, my team and I were able to win our pool in the U16 NIT’s!
I have played every position on the field. I find that I love the challenge of being a midfielder but I often get pulled to play as a forward. When my indoor team was down defensive players, I was able to jump in and contribute to the team as a back.
I also have played lacrosse. I do enjoy this sport but it does not compete with my love for field hockey. I simply enjoy playing with friends who are teammates and keeping myself active. I believe playing more than one sport while growing up can be a great advantage.
I have not made up my mind which level I would like to play at yet so I’m exploring all options and starting to plan some college tours.
Im excited and can’t wait to learn more about the recruiting process!
*This Spring 2022 I have made the JPOL U-16 team for CPFH so will attending all those tournaments as well as RCC (Regional Club Championships)
