Savanna Theroux '26 Recruiting Profile

I began my field hockey journey in the fall of 2023. Having little to no experience with this sport, I was eager to play. At the beginning of the season, my coach had asked if anyone was willing to step up and take the roll of goalie. Having had several years of experience playing both defender and soccer goalie, I volunteered. Although field hockey was new to me, I've never backed down from a challenge.

I have very good field deception and hand eye coordination when it comes to goal tending. I try to be a leader on all of my teams and motivate my team every chance I get. No matter the score, I never get down on myself and always self reflect on each game to determine what I could do better for the next match. 

As I progressed in my field hockey career, I realized that I would like to take the next step in my journey and play at the college level. Along with field hockey, I am able to maintain high academic achievements. While having a passion for sports, I also know the value of academics and the importance of balancing between the two.
