Hi, my name is Cassidy Morrison. I am 17 years old and am a Senior at Eastern View High School. I play field hockey and lacrosse for Eastern View. This year for field hockey we got to go to States and were able to play in the championship game. Sadly we lost, but played a great game against a very skilled team. Throughout our season we won 20 out of 23 games, won the District Championships, Regional Championships, and were the 4A State Runner Ups.
I really enjoy playing field hockey for Eastern View because my team is my family. We all get along on and off the field and it means a lot to me to be able to play for a team like that because it definitely got us far this year. We have a new motto for the team each year. In the past we have had "We Before Me", "Win As One", and "All In-All Game-All Season". Playing field hockey for Eastern View has showed me how far teamwork can get you, how important it is to get along with your teammates, and that hard work and dedication pays off. As a team, we worked for 171 days together to achieve our team goals and we achieved all of them. What my coaches have taught me in high school, I will definitely use if I get the opportunity to play in college. As for after high school, my goal in college is to major in Athletic Training and play field hockey.
I think what makes me different from other recruits is my drive to always get better, a hard work ethic, my desire to build strengths out of weaknesses, my coachability, and the amount of work I'm willing to put in to achieve a goal. Academically I try to maintain all A's and often find myself spending more time then required on assignments to make sure I get a good grade. I work hard to bring up any grade that isn't an A.
My character has reflected through sports with sportsmanship, being a team player, humble- always saying how well my team did instead of focusing on myself, and my desire to make others shine on the field by assisting others rather than taking the shot myself.
