Carsyn Poppa '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Carsyn Poppa and I attend Lee-Davis High School and am enrolled in the Advanced College Academy Dual Enrollment Program.  I've been playing field hockey for 5 years at both midfield and defense positions. In 2019, my high school team made it to the VA State Semi-finals.  I was honored to be named to the 1st Team All Region as a midfielder.  In 2019, I also transitioned over to playing with the Focus Field Hockey Club.  Field hockey wasn't my only adventure in 2019.  My family and I traveled to Greece in December 2019, where my dad was stationed with the Army.  We had to leave abruptly in March 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns.  The 2020 season has been postponed in VA, but we anticipate being back on the field for high school in Feb. 2020.  I was recently named a Co-Captain for my high school team and am leading off field efforts to get our team ready for the upcoming season. Luckily, practices and games have resumed with my club team, Focus Field Hockey.   Besides field hockey, my other interests include traveling, exercise, cooking, photography, and hanging out with friends and my dogs.  I truly believe in living a healthy and adventurous lifestyle and hope to pursue a career in the health or behavioral science field.
