Hi, my name is Victoria "Tori" Carawan and I would like to introduce myself to you. I am 15 years old and a Freshman at Floyd E. Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, VA. I play varsity Field Hockey for Floyd E. Kellam. I played Field Hockey on the Princess Anne Middle School team in 6- 8th grade and have been on the Kellam Varsity team since this year, 9th grade. I was a starting Forward in all games my Freshman year with 11 goals and was named to the 2nd Team All Coastal Conference. In middle school, I was voted team captain my 8th grade year, voted the middle school team MVP and won the City Championships in the spring of 2016. In high school we play in the Atlantic Coastal Conference in the state of Virginia. Our conference schedule includes many of the largest/highest ranked teams in the state. I often get matched up against some of the best players in Virginia. I attend one or more field hockey camps at colleges in the summer and I also train/condition in the winter. I play indoor field hockey with my club team TCOYO. As a U16 player, I was able to play in the U19 National Indoor Tournament in which we finished 2nd in our pool. Our club team TCOYO Hockey competes against the top level field hockey teams in the nation. I am excited to say that I was selected for the U16 National Futures Championships and was also selected to play in the AAU Junior Olympic Games this summer.
I am a very good student and take my education seriously. I have not decided on my major, but it will mostly likely be Health Sciences to become a Physical Therapist. I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and have participated in the NJHS community activities. I was also a Panther Partner in which I enjoyed helping the rising six graders coming into the middle school.
I also enjoy giving back to the field hockey community and want to grow the game. I am volunteering as a youth field hockey coach. I also volunteered at Princess Anne Middle School to help the girls this spring season with their practices and games.
When I'm not playing field hockey, I enjoy Wakeboarding in the summer. A little fun fact about me is that I have been wakeboarding since I was 4 years old.
I am looking for a college that is a good fit for me academically and gives me an opportunity to play field hockey.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
