Austin Haight '14 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'10" safety from Hoover, AL with outstanding speed and football intellect. I was a Captain and defensive leader on the Spain Park High School varsity team as senior and a junior after playing part time as a sophomore behind four D1 commits in the secondary. I had 45 solo tackles (including 4 for a loss), 57 assists, 2 forced fumbles, 1 recovered fumble and 3 interceptions at Strong Safety for a 6A team that won its Region for the second year in a row and lost in overtime in the first round of the Alabama state playoffs. I have 4.5 speed and averaged 30 yards a return on 9 kick off returns. I returned every punt during the season and was also on the punt and kick off coverage teams. I have a 3.5 GPA and a 27 ACT score.

I am a leader who brings out the best in others around me as a result of the effort I bring to the field everyday. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I would like to find a university with a strong academic reputation where I can prepare myself for a career beyond football. The ideal athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team.
