Sport: Football
Position: Football - Running Back
High School: Opelika High School (Opelika, Alabama 36801)
Graduation Year: 2019
I consider it a great honor to be closer to the milestone of graduating from high school. I am excited about the opportunity to play at the next level in Football and I am seeking this opportunity from an institution that invests in athletes on and off the field.
I am a 5’8” running back from Opelika, Alabama. I am a senior and will graduate in the 2019 class. I have started on the Varsity Team since entering my freshman season in 2015. I am an honor roll student with a 3.4 G.P.A. I am involved in mentoring young adolescents and also serving on the team of greeters at Church of the Highlands in Opelika, Alabama.
I come from a strong family background in which persistence and resiliency has influenced my ability to overcome setbacks that I have faced through my high school career. My parents have encouraged me that despite the circumstances that if I continue to stay focused I can achieve my goals. I have undergone two major surgeries during my junior year of high school that were season ending. These surgeries were difficult and costly to me and my family. I was forced to take a step back and reevaluate my love of the game of football and if I was committed to returning given the challenges that I was facing. I decided that I am passionate and my love of the game only increased and gave me a desire to work hard to return to the game that I love so much. The game of football has been a desire of mine since I began playing in the Pee-Wee League at six years old. I have always played and chosen football as part of my life.
I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I am a humble individual who has experienced many challenges during my high school career. My senior year has started off great. I am grateful to continue to play the game of football given the challenges that I have overcame. These challenges have given me a greater passion for pursuing my dream of playing at the next level. I am eager and willing to learn and grow. I have learned going through two major surgeries that I have to always be committed to living and presenting to the world the best version of me on a daily basis as these opportunities can be taken away instantly. I am grateful and humbled by my experiences. I am searching for an institution in which I can continue to grow as a young man on the field and in the classroom.
My academic goals for high school are to continue improving upon my 3.4 GPA so that my academic foundation leading into college is solid. My academic goals for college are to be just as committed to my grades and pursuit of a college degree as I am to the game of football.
I am searching for opportunities to decrease the out of pocket costs for my family therefore financial assistance will be an important aspect in my college selection. Ideally, I would like to be at a program where I can make a big contribution early in my career.
I believe that given the opportunity I will prove to be a great asset to any program. I am dedicated to proven myself and becoming a valuable contributor to the institution. I am grateful of the opportunities that will be afforded to me. I will ensure to not take any of them for granted.
I am a true believer in God. He is my solid foundation. I am committed to becoming a mature individual everyday. I want to be that representative as a student athlete on a college campus.
Respectfully,
Brantan
