Coach,
My name is Andrew Van Winkle. I am a 6' 5" kicker/punter from Clay-Chalkville High School class of 2016. I really enjoy being a kicker and punter. During the 2015 season, my goal each game was to kick the ball so as to put the opposing team at a yard line disadvantage. I think, for the most part, I accomplished this goal for my team. This past 2015 year was also exciting because I taught myself to be a good kicker through hard work and focus. I made 94% of my extra points, 61% of my field goals (my in-game longest field goal this season was 47 yards) and I averaged 42 yards per punt.
My top goal when I get to college is to obtain a degree that will allow me to provide for myself and my family.
When I became an Eagle Scout, I looked back on all the hard work and time it took to achieve success in Scouting. Kicking and punting is no different. It takes time and hard work to be the best. I think this is what sets me apart from other 2016 prospects. I will always work to improve myself to become a better kicker through training drills, working out, or just stretching. I owe this to my teammates and to myself. I always work hard to make myself better.
Sincerely,
Andrew
