My name is David Perez and I am a student at Betty H. Fairfax High School in Laveen, AZ. I have dedicated my life to fulfilling my dream of playing football at the next level. I workout up to 3 times a day. I wake up early each day I do not have training to run, stretch, and do a few light workouts before I start my day. Then I workout in my final class at school, this is where I lift the hardest. 3-4 days out of the week I attend training at either FAST (Foothills Acceleration and Sport Training) or at The Rise. Finally, I finish my day with light work outs such as pushups/sit ups and stretch every night before bed.
I have a 4.7 (weighted) GPA and a 4.0 (unweighted) GPA. I have taken AP Statistics and have taken all honors classes (besides required electives) my entire high school career. I also am a member of the International Baccalaureate Program. The IB Program is surely helping to prepare me for college, as far as the amount of work and potential college projects. The IB Program will definitely help me learn to balance out school with football. I have qualified for the Principal's List every semester of my high school career. Additionally, I am a member of Diversity Leadership Alliance and DECA (organization).
Football is not the only sport I have a passion for; I also play basketball. However, my junior year I decided to take the basketball season off to have maximum opportunities to prepare for my senior year, my final high school football season. I also took the basketball season off my Junior year to make athletic improvements to have the opportunity to, not only qualify, but dominate collegiate football.
I will work as hard as I have to and do what I need to so I may receive the blessing to play collegiate football. When I am not exercising preparing for the football season and college, I am either doing homework and studying or I am working attempting to raise/save money for my college fund. In college I plan to major in an area of Business at a high academic school. My ultimate goal is to succeed in both my academics and football at a school that also exceeds in both areas. The academic level is a extremely important factor of deciding where I am going to attend college.
I am one of the most focused student-athletes across the entire country. My life is dedicated to and revolves around football. I choose to make football such a high priority because playing football is the only thing I can honestly say I love to do. I will do my absolute best to guarantee my football career does not end at the end of my senior year with my self-discipline, focus, perseverance, and determination.
