I am a 15 year old Native American who loves the sport of football. I am from as small town on the Navajo reservation, Rough Rock, Arizona. I am half Navajo and 1/4 Pawnee and 1/4 Kiowa. I play for the Red Mesa High School Redskins. I play both Tight-end and Defensive-End, and I am on the the Special Teams.
My stature and my youth is what sets me apart, although most times it makes me a target which can be scary at times but, I always find the courage to overcome my fears. I am only 15 years old with plenty more practices and drills ahead of me, and I look forward to each challenge. There was a time when I didn't really focus on my grades but, this past football season has helped me to realize that my grades effect my ability to play. I have improved my grades, and I have not missed a single day of practice.
Football helps me to feel free, its an escape. Knowing that if I don't keep a great grade in class, I wouldn't play the next game. So I strive to be a great student athlete. My main goal is to go to college and to graduate with a degree. And also play football while I'm in the process. Like my coach says , "no A no play".
