Hi,
My name is Ryan Edens. I am a current senior playing Quarterback at Maumelle High School in Maumelle, AR. Im 6'4 1/2. I weight 220 lbs. My last 40 time was a 4.75. The things that stand out about me are my ability to take control of an offense and produce in pressured situations. My most important accomplishments happened just here recently during our first homecoming of the brand new Maumelle High School. We played the Bauxite Miners and by halftime with a score of 35-7,  I was 4 of 5 for 214 yards and 52 yards rushing. This may not sound like incredible numbers but being that we are a running based offense, it shows that if need be, we can throw the football as well. The second half was rough for our defense and special teams but we ended up pulling of a win with a final score of 44-48.
I am intrested in attending your university because i feel like i can help contribute to the overall well being of your team. As stated earlier, I'm a leader, plain and simple. I have a short memory when it comes to bad plays, but i remember enough to not make the same mistakes.Ive been told by coaches that my best attribute would have to be my ablity to be coached. im a fast learner that produces at the time given. Ive had experience playing other positions such as wide reciever but after one game of not putting up expected numbers, i was placed back in my rightful positionas quarterback. ie been playing the position since i was in 7th grade and grown to love it more and more each year. Another thing i will never forget will be getting invited to the Elite 11 in Ft.Worth, Texas. Although i didnt make it through the first round, i learned alot and attracted attention of scouts and coaches. The location of the college i attend isnt really a major factor as long as the school offers the major im pursuing. I would like to pursue a career in either welding or engineering. Ive taken advanced math classes throughout high school to give me an edge and prepare me to pursue either of theses careers.  My athletic goals going into college are simple, 1. Put God first in all that i do and accomplish, 2. play to the best of my ability at whatever position im placed at, 3. accel in the classroom. I would like to not only bring talent to the football team but also a spiritual influence. Not only will i want the players to be able to come to me on the field for guidance, but also off the field.
I would like to play D1 football but after thinking about it, the classification in which i play doesnt really matter to me. im just going to play the game that i love and let God workout the rest. If its meant for me to start for the most prestidious offense in the country, or 3rd string for a junior college in Alaska. wherever i play, ill play my hardest every chance i get and strive to standout.
