Deontae Mitchell '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Deontae Mitchell. As an undersized safety,the greatest attribute is my nonstop motor. I am willing to stop anyone at anytime no matter their size. I can cover backs out of the backfield, tight ends, and slot receivers. The weight room is more or less my second home. I am extremely coachable and am always trying to do things the right way and get better. I work just as hard in the classroom I currently have a 3.1 GPA. At this level, I feel that my coaches have taught me techniques that have allowed me to react promptly to what I see, allowing me to make plays all over the field. Those techniques along with my general football instinct have alIowed me to lead the the defense in tackles, interceptions, and pass break ups during the past season. In addition, I was named 1st team All-Conference and 1st team All-Academic. I bring positive energy to the defense on every play and I would consider myself to be a great vocal leader and generally a great person to be around.
