I've been playing sports my entire life, but playing football is what changed it forever. I started playing football my freshman year of high school, and I have never enjoyed anything more. Most of the people who know me are perplexed by how I can be such a kind and outgoing, gentle-giant outside of football, and a bloodthirsty goliath on the field.
Out of the 10-11 hours I spend at school daily, the 2-3 hours on the football field are the ones I get out of bed for. To me, football is not a sport; it's a lifestyle. It's a lifestyle that I'm eager to commit the rest of my life to. I've spent the past 4 years dedicating my life to being a better player, teammate, son, leader, and person, and I'm ready to spend the next 4 doing the same.
Being as social as I am, I have a strong connection with every single person on my team. I've made sure all my teammates know that I will always be someone they can approach if they need help with their technique, a certain play, or even need academic assistance. That is why my coach made me a captain of our team.
My grades are extremely important to me, which is why I've achieved a 4.07 cumulative GPA all 4 years of high school while balancing Football, ASB, Track, and all the other clubs/activities I'm a part of. During the football season, it's difficult to excel in multiple AP classes as well as the gridiron, but I have proven I am more than capable to do exactly that.
I've spent the majority of my life fighting the stereotype that giant people are dumb, and I have definitely emerged victorious in that battle. Using the work ethic and sense of perserverence that I have develped from playing football, I'm able to shine in anything I put my mind to.
