Competing at the varsity level as a sophomore has been the highlight of my life because I know I made my dad proud. My dad is the reason why I play football, and he has been a great influence and supporter of my high school career. At the beginning of my Sophomore year playing on the varsity team, I wasn't a starter. As the year continued I was finally able to prove myself to my coaches by beating out the seniors and securing my spot as an offense and defensive player. Offensively I played starting center, and defensively I played starting defensive end. Playing these positions was an achievement because I've played them since I started playing football with pop warner. I learned this year that I'm very capable as long as I stay confident and work hard.
An obstacle I face is that my school is small and we don't have the best training equipment. So, on my own time I workout a lot with my personal trainer, who also happens to be my Dad. Some things I would like to achieve in high school are all league award and possible state awards like my Dad did. Some things that make me stand out from other players is my weight room numbers. That's why I like stats so much, because they don't lie. I exceed most players on the field, even though being a younger player was a factor. A skill I have that I think is valuable is being able to play multiple positions, this is possible because I study the playbook. Some things I look for in a college program is whether or not it will put me at my best playing level while allowing me to major in an area that is pursuing my dream job.
