Competing on the football field on Friday nights is my passion, but my ultimate desire is to continue playing football at a university on Saturday afternoons. I’m driven to be the best that I can be on the field, in the classroom and in everything that I do. I challenge myself by taking AP courses and maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. In addition, the hard work that I put in in the weight room is starting to show as I continue to make significant gains as I improve on my strength. I consider myself a well rounded and all around athlete. I can be found in the gymnasium during the winter months playing on the basketball court, in the spring I can be found on the diamond playing baseball, but as I have already stated football is my passion and that is where you will find Tyler Mello in the fall.
Perhaps my strongest attribute is that I am coachable. I value the instruction that I receive from my coaches because it makes me better by improving upon my technique. The instruction by my coaches is also important to me because I learn my role in the overall scheme and that makes us a better team. Speaking of team, I strive to be the teammate that I’d like to have. I’m not the most outspoken but when something needs to be said I say it or when someone needs to step up and do something, I do it. I prefer to lead by example and I like to think that I am liked by my teammates. But it is my actions, my preparation and my work ethic which has a direct correlation with my performance and because of that I know that I am respected by my coaches and teammates and to me that is most important.
