Hi there, my name is Bradley Kaltenthaler, and I am a RB/LB out of a small rural town in San Diego county. I've only been playing since last year, and this is my senior year, but last year I rushed for over 1100 yards, made 1st team all league, as well as winning my team MVP award. Unfortunately, I broke my hand this year in the first game, and will be missing about half of our team's season. But I am incredibly committed to not only this sport, but any sport I take part in. I show up every single day to our weight room session, do what I can with my hand, then I go to practice to improve my cardio and the more intricate parts of my game. Along with this, I have stepped into a coaching role over the past few weeks, because I feel it's my duty as a senior captain to better my team as much as I can without me actually being on the field.
Academically, I have been on the college path since freshman year, and have taken at least one AP course every year for the past 3 years. I have also passed all AP tests I have taken. I've always been very studious, with a 3.82 weighted GPA throughout high school and I also managed to score a 1200 on my SAT test that I took last year. But I'm also starting to bore myself with numbers, so I'm sure you're getting bored as well. My academic goals are to get a degree in journalism, because I've looked into sports journalism, and that is the closest I can get to sports without actually playing them for the rest of my life. I am a student of virtually any and all sports, and have a passion to enjoy and understand the games themselves. I certainly believe this commitment has improved my actual performance over the years, because I feel it's my responsibility to learn and improve my abilities. As far as journalism goes, I went to a highly touted sports journalism boot camp at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State last summer for 2 weeks. It was an eye-opener, and cemented that I absolutely need to take this route, because simply put, sports are my life inside and out.
Throughout high school I have held a job for going on 4 years, kept my grades at the high level they're at, and been able to continue to compete at a high level in 3 different sports, with football being my best all around sport. I have had endless support from my family, who've helped to continually drive me forward in all aspects of life. So if I ever get the opportunity to continue playing sports in college, hopefully football, I will absolutely take it. I will come with an unmatched passion and work ethic, because this is what my life has lead me to do. I'd just like to thank you for the opportunity and taking the time out of your day to read this through, and hopefully we will be in touch in the future.
