Jalen Munoz '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6' 1”, 225 lb, Defensive End/Tackle at Beyer High School in Modesto California.  I have played tackle football since I was 8 years old, completing 6 years of youth league prior to my freshman year of high school.  I was a two-way starter on the junior varsity team my freshman and sophomore year.  I was also a two-way starter on the varsity team my junior year.  I was named All Conference and Academic All-Conference Scholar Athlete my junior year.  I was also recognized for my leadership, character, and commitment to the team by being awarded the Coaches Award after my junior year season. 

Academically, I have a 3.65 non weighted GPA, and a 3.89 weighted GPA, with 2 advanced placement classes.  I believe hard work in the classroom is just as important as the work done on the practice field.  I believe in giving back, and assisting others to make a positive impact in my community.  Part of my academic curriculum includes volunteering in the Beyer High School "PAL" Program which provides me the opportunity to work with my fellow students who have special needs.   

It is important to me to choose a school where the academic program will provide me the best opportunity to reach graduation, while also putting in work for a competitive team.   My maturity and attention to detail have influenced my interest to pursue a career in criminal justice and/or serving to enhance our national security.  Athletically, I feel I can impact a team with my high football IQ, while being a leader on and off the field through my strong work ethic and personal integrity.
