Hunter Probst '26 Recruiting Profile

            I am a 6’5” Punter/H/KO Specialist from Santa Rosa, California.  I can also assist with extra points and field goals if needed. During my freshman year, I played on the junior varsity team at Maria Carrillo High School, and I started attending Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park my sophomore year.  

            I am looking for a good academic school where I can become an integral part of the football program.  My motivation, work ethic and support system, combined with my strength and size, are what set me apart from other athletes.

            My football journey started in the summer of 2022.  The start of high school football changed who I am today.  I went to the first day of football not knowing what to expect.  Then I fell in love with the game, my mindset completely changed, and my daily habits changed. Before I had to be pulled out of bed; now I have a reason to wake up.  I am up at 6:00 each morning of my own accord, making my breakfast and food for the day, anxious to excel in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the field. In the middle of my sophomore season (October 2023), my coaches noticed my skill as a punter, and I punted in my first game. I moved from TE and backup QB to a full-time specialist. I also held for PATs and FGs, and I have added kickoffs to my training sessions. My focus now is honing my technique, working on consistency and continuing to improve my strength & flexibility. As a late bloomer, I believe my best is yet to come!

            At the start of my freshman year, I went to football not knowing what to expect.  Now it is what gets me up each morning.  With my motivation and work ethic, I know I can overcome any obstacles and become a valuable part of a football program.
